COACH JOHN LIZAMA

Coach John Lizama has over 25 years of coaching experience to his credit. He has been the Head Coach for the Men’s and Women’s Indoor and Beach collectively for 13 years and coached both the Men’s and Women’s National Teams to Bronze Medals at the 2005 South Pacific Mini Games for Beach Volleyball (Guam’s only medals in the Pacific Games history). 

 

He is an internationally certified coach gaining certification with the IOC and FIVB as well as the Australian Volleyball Association, where he assisted the Australian Men’s National Team through an Oceania National Olympic Committee coaching scholarship. 

 

He has coached at the Junior National level for 16 years competing at the USA Volleyball Championships having numerous players go on to play NCAA Volleyball. He has lent his expertise coaching DoDDs teams in mainland Japan. 

 

Coach Lizama was also selected and inducted as one of 165 Sports Legends of Micronesia. Coach Lizama is the current coach for the CFAY (Yokosuka Naval Base) Men’s and Women’s Varsity teams and was the Head Coach for the British School in Tokyo winning multiple league championships for both the boys and girls team.
